I hate running !

Atlantic Spine Clinic in Mt. Pleasant sees a lot of runners for maintenance chiropractic and injury care. There are many exciting and fun themed races in the fall, thanks to cooler weather and holidays. Gobble Wobble, Reindeer Run, Color Me Rad and Zombie Run Challenge all sound like a blast…. Unless you’re not a runner!

Want to join your friends in the festivities but don’t know where to start? Luckily, there’s a training program designed specifically for those who do not run – Couch to 5K ! (A 5K is 3.1 miles) At coolrunning.com you will find a training schedule that requires only 20 minutes, 3 times per week, for 9 weeks. The program starts you off VERY slowly with intervals of running/walking so you don’t get too winded or raise your heart rate to unhealthy levels.

I recommend signing up for a race in the Charleston / Mt. Pleasant area so you have a definite goal that has been paid for, and recruiting a running buddy to keep you accountable! Remember that the chiropractors at Atlantic Spine Clinic in Mt. Pleasant are here to help with any aches or pains you experience on your way to a 5K!
